How To Adopt A Greyhound

Make Sure a Greyhound is the Right Dog for You!

Greyhounds Are:

  • Dogs that need to be on a leash at all times outside the house for their protection

  • Companion animals, gentle and intelligent

  • Indoor pets for the most part, unless they are accompanied by their humans

  • In need of a coat in cool weather

  • Require vet check-ups twice a year

  • Generally love to go anywhere with their humans

  • Hypoallergenic

  • Non-barkers

  • Dogs that bond quickly with the new humans

Greyhounds Are Not:

  • To be off leash

  • NEVER use Retractable leashes on a Greyhound!! (Read why by clicking here)

  • Left outside alone for any length of time

  • Guard dogs

  • To be tied outside
